Richard J Knaggs
Solicitor
Richard J Knaggs is the founder of Knaggs & Co Solicitors. Richard set up the firm in 1983 and is a Solicitor and Principal of the firm.
Richard has many years experience in both commercial and residential property matters.
Richard also holds a wealth of expertise in the area of Sports & Media law. Richard has advised internationally recognised figures in all aspects of their commercial dealing. In particular, Richard has specialist knowledge of broadcast media contracts.
Stuart Lisgo
Solicitor
Stuart Lisgo joined Knaggs & Co in October 2020 and was promoted to Partner in November 2021. Stuart also leads our Will, Trust & Probate Department.
Stuart trained as a solicitor with a Newcastle Quayside firm and qualified in 2006. Stuart was a Partner in a Sunderland based high street firm for over ten years before moving to Knaggs & Co.
Stuart offers expert advice in relation to wills, probate, powers of attorney, trusts and wealth tax planning.
Stuart also advises on the merits of contentious probate claims and can assist with all practical aspects of bringing or defending such claims.
Victoria Wilson
Head of Residential Conveyancing Department
Victoria joined in 2025 and brings more than 25 years of experience in residential property law. Throughout her career, she has successfully guided thousands of clients through all aspects of the conveyancing process, delivering practical advice and exceptional client service at every stage of a transaction.
Victoria leads the department with a strong focus on quality, communication, and client care. She is committed to ensuring that every client receives a professional, responsive, and seamless service, whether they are first-time buyers, experienced property investors, or homeowners looking to move.
Known for her approachable manner, attention to detail, and dedication to achieving the best outcomes for her clients, Victoria has built a reputation as a trusted and highly respected conveyancing specialist.
Tiffany Pitman
Conveyancing Executive
With eight years of experience in residential property law, Tiffany joined the firm as a Conveyancing Executive, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience across a broad range of residential conveyancing matters. Having progressed from an assisting role to managing her own files and taking responsibility for transactions throughout the conveyancing process, she has developed a strong understanding of the requirements involved in ensuring matters progress smoothly and efficiently. Her experience includes sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity and shared ownership. Tiffany also has extensive specialist experience in new-build conveyancing, having undertaken dedicated training in this area and spent four years developing her expertise. This has provided her with a thorough understanding of the complexities and specific requirements associated with new-build transactions.
Dedicated to providing an excellent level of service, Tiffany places great importance on client care, clear communication and attention to detail throughout every stage of the conveyancing process. Recognising that buying or selling a property can be a significant milestone, she takes a proactive and approachable approach, ensuring clients feel informed, supported and confident throughout their transaction. Conveyancing Executive
Steph rejoined Knaggs & Co after a career break to start a family. Steph has a wealth of experience in all aspects of residential conveyancing.
We are delighted to welcome Steph back to the team.
After the birth of her second child, Steph is currently on Maternity Leave.

Beth Marshall
Trainee Solicitor
Beth joined the firm in 2025 and began working as an assistant in our residential conveyancing department, having completed her LL.B and LPC at Northumbria University.
Beth commenced her training contact in September 2026 and will qualify as a solicitor upon completion.
Beth is currently working in our residential conveyancing department.
Gaynor McCormick
Head of Commercial Property Department
Gaynor joined our firm in 2026. A highly knowledgeable Commercial Property advisor with over 20 years’ experience.
Gaynor has undertaken various locum roles over the last decade but has chosen to join Knaggs & Co on a permanent basis.
Chris Fairhead
Head of Family Department
Chris joined us in 2026 as Head of our Family Department.
He has 40 years’ experience in dealing with Family Law cases ranging from complex finances to international children cases. He has until recently worked in the Essex and London area.
Having been Divorced himself and being a father to 2 children he has empathy with clients and their needs, offering practical and pragmatic advice, but ensuring you are told not necessarily what you may want to hear but what you need to hear. .
He now lives locally and enjoys the local countryside, having decided to settle in the Northeast.
Michelle Blackburn
Senior Legal Assistant
Michelle Blackburn first joined Knaggs & Co over 20 years ago. She is a Senior Legal Assistant within the Wills and Probate Department.
Michelle has a thorough understanding of the probate journey and is able to lead our clients through this difficult process with compassion and expertise.
Michelle is a very experienced assistant and is a valued member of the team.
Chloe Hillyard
Legal Assistant
Chloe recently joined as an assistant in our family department.
Chole is currently undertaking the 2nd year of her law degree.
Chloe assists Chris Fairhead in our Family Department.
Reece Downs
Legal Assistant
Having Recently completed his LL.B, Reece has joined us in our Residential Conveyancing department. Reece has ambitions to qualify as a solicitor.
